The Board

The binational Fulbright Commission consists of five German and five US members appointed by the honorary chairpersons, the incumbent German foreign ministers and the incumbent US ambassadors to Germany.
The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in Washington, D.C., establishes the guidelines for international Fulbright exchanges. Its members are appointed by the President of the United States.

The German-American Fulbright Program is administered by Fulbright Germany in Berlin. The US partner of the German-American Fulbright Commission is the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in the US Department of State.
